Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Abilene, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to provide care in an LTACH facility with ICU and IMC level patients. Patient flow ratios can be as high as 1:5. Weekend scheduling is every other weekend (EOW).

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
Experience in Intermediate Care
Med Surg / Telemetry experience
ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in a Long Term Acute Care (LTACH) setting

Additional Requirements

Proof of I9 or attestation
Government issued photo ID carried during hours of service
Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Texas Employee Misconduct Registry
Health documents including:
- Physical exam (initial and annual)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Drug screening (9-panel within last 12 months; 10-panel + Nicotine within 10 days of start)
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment
Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
Completion of employment application/resume and skills checklist updated annually

Scheduling

Weekend shifts every other weekend (EOW)

Notes

This position is open to first-time travel nurses (no prior travel experience required).
Patient ratio may reach up to 1:5 at peak times.

This role is ideal for ICU RNs with at least 2 years of critical care experience looking for a travel contract in Texas.
