Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (typically 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
- Schedule options: 5x8s or 4x10s accepted
- No call and no weekend shifts required
- Unit: General Nuclear Medicine, including PET/CT with Cardiac PET using Rubidium
- Preferred experience with Synapse PACS, Cardiology PACS, bone/liver/spleen/lung scans, renal flow, shunt, thyroid studies, tumor localization, SPECT, and Myocardial imaging
- Dress code: Black scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
- Licensure/Certification:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or ARRT(N) required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search
- Wisconsin caregiver screening required prior to start (state-specific search)
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
- Negative drug screen within 12 months of start
- TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (for new candidates only)
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
- Preferred COVID vaccine series documentation
- OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start (fit testing done onsite during orientation)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and agreements prior to start
- Post-start orientation checklists to be completed during first week on assignment
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be fit tested onsite during the first week of orientation; failure to submit fit test results within two weeks may result in removal from assignment
- Candidates must complete all required compliance modules annually
- References and skills checklist required for new candidates (not extensions)
- No call or weekend shifts required, making this a consistent day-shift opportunity
