Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Surgical Services (Operating Room)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) with holiday rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
- On-call: None
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units
Required Experience & Skills
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Surgical Services
- Preferred Experience: Neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) cases highly preferred
- Common Case Types: Orthopedics (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, GU/GYN
- First-time travelers: Accepted
Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA certification
- Minimum 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency
- Trauma Level: Level 1 trauma center experience preferred

Additional Requirements
- Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender registry, and more within 1 year of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam updated annually
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- COVID vaccination records highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted
- Competency Exams: Required as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency and OR competency exams
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down to add up to 1 shift
- Local radius: 60 miles
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Open to block scheduling with manager approval
Important Notes
- During hurricane season (June-November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, solid light background, business casual attire)
- Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start without it on the floor
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Certifications & Licenses
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
