Registered Nurse - Home Health (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (08:00 - 17:00)
- No call or weekend shifts required; willingness to help on weekends is a plus
- Adult home health and home infusion experience required
- Epic electronic health record system experience required
- Ability to approve up to 40 hours of RTO (Recovery Time Off)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Home Health, with recent experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients in a Home Health setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
- Education verification required; BSN preferred, ASN minimum if BSN not held
- Fingerprinting required for certain units (e.g., Behavioral Health, Home Health) with results prior to start
- Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check required for Behavioral Health and specific units
- Drug screening: 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and updated annually
- Physical exam within 12 months of start attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (no declinations/exemptions)
- 2-step TB test or Qgold (Chest X-ray if positive)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer; no declinations)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody positive titer or antigen titer protocol
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer; declination accepted but must be documented)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions)
Orientation and Testing
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions (may apply)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed
Additional Notes
- Mileage reimbursement available at federal rate
- Various facility-specific forms and screenings must be completed prior to start
- Radiation badges are not provided for new candidates; existing badge holders will be grandfathered
- Internal and performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year
