Pediatric Telemetry Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Ohio, Columbus
Job Details

- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience (highest specialty experience requirement)
- Experience with patients having cardiac defects (medical and surgical)
- Skilled in care involving:
- Tracheostomies and ventilators
- High flow nasal cannula
- Post-operative cardiac catheterizations
- Post-operative care after Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)
- Inotropes administration
- Heart and lung transplant patient care
Required Qualifications & Licenses
- Current Ohio RN license in hand (must be verified within 30 days of start)
- Two professional references required at time of submission:
- One must be a manager or supervisor (Charge RN acceptable)
- Peer references are not acceptable
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP certification required for NICU RNs (check unit requirements)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable per unit/job description
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable per unit/job description
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year search covering all counties lived/worked
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse (standalone)
- International background check if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start (must use specific code 2151.86)
- Sex offender, nurse aide, inmate, Medicaid exemption, and abuse registry searches required within 30 days of start
- Drug screen (9-panel) negative result within 60 days prior to start
- Education verification of highest degree required
- Employment application and resume submission required
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (candidates sign Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical copy)
- N95 fit testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask models accepted)
- TDAP vaccine required within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols for positive results)
- Annual TB questionnaire and related documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31 (declination not accepted; medical/religious exemptions require facility approval)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (declination accepted if titer negative/equivocal)
- Fingerprint screening questions and code of conduct/confidentiality agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidate’s legal name must match all licenses, certifications, and identification documents exactly (no nicknames or aliases)
- Current government-issued photo ID required within 24-48 hours of contract signing (temporary IDs not accepted)
- Address on driver’s license must not be within 60 miles of the facility (local candidates not accepted)
