Job Details

• Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent scrubbing and circulating experience in outpatient surgery
• Specialty Experience: Circulating and scrubbing in General, ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics (spine, sports medicine, hand/podiatry), Urology, GYN cases, and Breast oncology
• Education: BSN required
• Licensure: Valid California RN license required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • CNOR preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers are eligible if experience requirements are met (prior travel experience not explicitly required)

  • 7-year National Criminal History Search (including County searches)

  • EPLS/GSA/SAM Search (within 30 days of start, annual requirement)
  • HHS/OIG Search (within 30 days of start, annual requirement)
• Education Verification: Diploma or official transcripts verifying BSN or higher
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units)
• Facility-Specific Requirements:

  • Completion of various UCLA online training modules including HIPAA, OSHA, C-ICARE, Code of Conduct, Radiation Hazard Awareness, Safe Patient Handling, and others
  • Signing of confidentiality, abuse reporting, and other facility-specific agreements
  • Photo for badge (clear, recent, professional headshot)
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask testing (specific N95 masks required, annual expiration for Aya candidates)
  • Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, TB (QGold test), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (per UCLA guidelines)
  • Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (Aya requirement)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required annually during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (monovalent vaccine dose required after 9/12/2023 or declination accepted)
• References & Employment History:

  • Two references required (supervisor level or above, one within last year)
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Work history verification for last 5 years
