Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Description
- Assignment in Surgical ICU (M3 SICU) with floating to MICU as needed
- Schedule requires minimum every other weekend and flexibility to meet unit and patient care needs
- Uniform: Any solid color scrubs
- Facility is a large teaching hospital (500+ beds)
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
- Preferred: CCRN certification preferred
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required prior to start
- Skills:
- Hemodynamic device experience
- Experience with patient populations including post-cardiac surgery, vascular trauma (Level 1), general surgery, neurosurgery overflow, MICU
- EPIC electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)
- Experience in a large teaching facility required
Schedule & Orientation
- Monday to Sunday shifts, no block schedules
- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays (next available orientation date provided by recruiter)
- Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification based on highest degree
- State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing
- Annual health documents including physical exam, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), TB testing, flu vaccination or exemption, COVID-19 vaccination or declination
- N95 fit test required prior to assignment and updated annually
- Drug testing may be required depending on facility location
- Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start (approximately 8 hours, non-billable)
- Facility-specific forms including abuse registry consent, emergency contact, auto registration, dress code and telephone usage policies
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (plain light background, no logos or hats)
Additional Notes
- Must provide complete and detailed work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type for all prior employment
- Public transportation is not accessible; reliable transportation is essential
- Strict adherence to COVID-19 testing protocols and masking policies on site
- Must complete all required documentation and training within specified timeframes prior to start
