Surgery Tech

Location

• Lafayette, Colorado

Schedule

• Day shift
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• On-call status to be discussed during interview

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NBSTSA
• Graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months, or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years
• 1 year of scrubbing experience
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital

Experience

• Experience supporting surgeries within the surgical team
• Experience in sterile field management
• Experience with sterilization processes and requirements
• Experience with sterile processing
• Experience responding to emergency situations
• Experience with life support situations related to surgical care
• Experience supervising within surgical services

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain the sterile field and environmental safety
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for procedures
• Assist the surgeon during procedures within scope of practice
• Support room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes
• Assist with sterile processing
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately
