Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab - Travel

Location: Newton, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM), 4 days per week (9.5 hours per shift)
Hours per Week: 37.5 hours

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to patients in the Cath Lab, including pre-operative and post-operative assessments and education.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver direct patient care and support the perioperative team by prioritizing patient needs and responding to changes in condition.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency procedures and equipment.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
• Participate in Stemi on-call coverage: 10-12 shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends (Friday 5 PM to Monday 7 AM), counted within the total shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform duties as defined by Occupational Safety standards, including safe patient handling and body mechanics.

• This position requires working in a fast-paced Cath Lab environment with surgical patients.
