Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN - ED)

Location: Brighton, Colorado
Employment Type: Nursing (Clinical)
Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
  • Provide health teaching and counseling to patients.
  • Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
  • Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
  • Document care and treatments in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize resources effectively.
  • May float to other departments within competency and qualifications based on business needs.
  • May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association, and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
  • Proficient in triage and patient assessment in the Emergency Department setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification relevant to the Emergency Department unit.
