Job Description

• Provide delegated direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical setting.
• Responsible for clinical decision-making based on education, experience, State Board of Nursing rules, and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities according to staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Care duties may include physical examination and data collection, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), patient education, medication administration, peripheral IV therapy, discharge planning, implementation of physician orders, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Alabama.
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• IV certification.

• Position requires night shift availability.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
