Assignment Details

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Unit is a 10-bed multi-acuity care unit with ICU, PCU, and MST care on the same unit
• Ratios vary by acuity: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6, or 1:3 primary care if no nurse aide is available
• RNs titrate drips
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
• Remote Monitor Techs support PCU and MST patients
• RT supports vents, BiPAP, and CPAP
• RNs must take 12-lead EKGs
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend
• Holiday rotation is required
• If census is low, staff rotates standby turns
• Floating includes EC MST and Pediatric unit for adult MST, and West Campus in Prescott for ICU and PCU
• Two-hour notice is given before floating
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• At least 2 years of ICU experience
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before signing the contract

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of ICU experience and one year of PCU/Med Surg experience may be accepted if the clinician has worked in larger facilities and has strong skills

Additional Notes

• Candidates may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates cannot have worked perm at another CommonSpirit facility within the last 12 months
• Radius rule is 50 miles
• Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds that include MST, PEDS, and an acuity adaptable MCU unit that admits ICU/PCU/MST patients
• Orientation includes hospital orientation and unit orientation
