Medical Physicist Position - Medford, Oregon
Job Title

Contract Length
13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, day shifts
- 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Some on-call during normal clinic hours
- Occasional weekends/evenings based on clinical activity
Job Duties
- Perform weekly chart checks, electron cutout measurements, VMAT QA, TLD measurements
- Treatment planning and machine repair coordination with engineers
- Linac and CT quality assurance
- VMAT peer review of plans
- Software upgrades and weekly chart rounds documentation
- Consultation on scientific and technical aspects of treatment planning and delivery
- Lead monthly quality improvement meetings and technical committee meetings
- Participate in bi-annual radiation safety meetings
- Prepare special physics reports and collect/analyze EOT data
- Evaluate and implement new equipment
- Manage radiation badge program
- Provide technical training for therapists and dosimetrists
- Calibration of all equipment including 3D EBRT, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT
Equipment Utilized
- Elekta Infinity Linac (3 photon beams, 5 electron beams)
- OBI for kV and MV imaging
- GE Discovery CT 590 RT
- ABC breath hold equipment with DuoCheck automated QA device
- Sun Nuclear ArcCheck, IC Profiler, QA3 warmup device
- Water tanks, PTW data acquisition software, solid water slabs, ion chambers, electrometers
- ATLAS database, Pinnacle v16.2 TPS, Mosaiq v2.64 R&V system
- Immobilization equipment, decimal cutout process, bolus manufacturing
- Cyrpa (7) Moveable Laser system with automated calibration jig
- Imaging phantoms, RIT software, MIM software, RadCalc dose check software
- Fully paperless environment with computer workstations, scanners, printers, MS Office products, EPIC, and other software tools
- Extensive Excel-based worksheets, MOSAIQ scripting and QCL sets, detailed policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical physicist, including experience within the last year
- Master of Science or higher degree in Medical Physics
- Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (DABR) certification
- Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) recognition by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Orientation and Training
- 4 shifts of 10 hours each (can accommodate 5 shifts of 8 hours if preferred)
Additional Information
- No floating to other units or departments
- Treats approximately 18 to 35 patients per day
- Dress code: casual business (no jeans)
