Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: Apple Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM to 11:30 PM)
Schedule: Block schedule Monday-Wednesday, option for flexibility Monday-Saturday; no Sundays
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital with 212 staffed beds
Charting System: Epic (experience highly preferred)
Call Requirement: No on-call duties
Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Local Radius: 50 miles (locals welcome)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
Wound Care Certification or WCON required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation

Health and Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
Immunizations and screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
Respirator clearance required for travel candidates (annual)
Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (annual)

Background and Compliance

Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
Education verification required for nursing degree
Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
Work history verification may be required if reference exceptions are requested
Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable

Training and Competencies

Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for wound care nursing
- Epic training modules (transcripts required)
Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

No scheduling requests due to outside employment will be considered
Free parking available at the facility
Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to nearby facilities within reasonable distance
