Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery (Travel/Contract)

Location: Orange, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule Options:

  • 4x10 hour shifts (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • 5x8 hour shifts with variable start times between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM
• Patient Population: Primarily inpatient/outpatient pediatric patients; adults on rare occasions
• Work Environment: Fast-paced procedure center with minor surgical cases including ENT, plastics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, dentistry, and oncology
• Call Requirements: Yes; 5 weekdays and 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Float Requirement: No
• Documentation System: Surginet (Cerner)
• Additional Skills: EMR experience required; willingness to train in endoscopy; experience or exposure to GI and pulmonary specialties preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient surgery experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in ENT surgery
• Experience in plastic surgery
• Experience in ophthalmology
• Experience in urology
• Experience in oncology

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be available locally by start date to complete orientation activities, which include both virtual and in-person components.
• Professional, clear photo required for badge issuance.
• Strict fingernail hygiene policy: no artificial nails allowed; natural nails must be maintained at ¼ inch or less.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced pediatric surgical environment with minor surgical cases and variable shift times.

This position is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs with general surgery and procedure center experience seeking a travel contract in a dynamic outpatient surgical setting.
