Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry
Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- Charting System: EPIC experience required
- Floating: Required to float within skillset
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 to 1:7
- Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (assigned at time of offer)
- Local Candidates: RN candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
- Acute care experience within the past 6 months
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP, TNCC, EFM, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and Rapid Response/Code team activation
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Tech Cert Verification - National
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
Requirements & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
- References and employment verification as required
Additional Notes
- Must submit scheduling and time-off requests upon application
- The client may cancel up to three shifts during the contract without penalty
- Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white
This position is ideal for RNs with acute care experience who are comfortable working night shifts on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit and meet New York state licensing requirements.
