Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bellevue, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
Start Date: February 9 or March 2

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Required Experience: Minimum 3 years in specialty
• Must have experience with:

  • Magnesium drips
  • C-sections
  • Floating to Post-Partum unit as needed
• EPIC experience required
• Flexible schedule; no block scheduling
• Return to Office (RTO) must be 5 days or less

Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Competencies Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification only (no RQI)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification only (no RQI)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for Mother-Baby and L&D RNs; AHA preferred, RQI generally not accepted
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Check unit description if required
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Competency Exam (minimum score 85%)
• Patient Restraints Competency Exam (required for all except students)
• Core Part I, II, III (annual, minimum score 85%)
• OSHA Mandatory Training (annual, minimum score 85%)
• IV Therapy/Infusion Exam (for RNs working in infusion/IV therapy)

Licensure & Background Checks

• Valid Washington State RN license with primary source verification
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Social Security number required (no physical card needed)
• Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, county, state, federal, nationwide, sex offender, and international searches if applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Clear physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (highly preferred) or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: titer with lab results or 2 vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• Hepatitis B: titer with lab results, proof of series, or facility-specific declination
• Varicella: titer with lab results or 2 vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests acceptable)
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required year-round (2025-26 season)

Additional Requirements

• No less than two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
• Copy of employment application required
• Completion of facility-specific modules and training after orientation (must be completed promptly to avoid removal from schedule)
• Review and sign facility policies including Code of Conduct, Applicant Disclosure Statement, Confidentiality Policy, Appearance and Dress Code, Internet Usage Agreement, and CMS Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) Training (annual)

Work Environment Notes

• Dayshift L&D experience preferred but this position is nights
• Must be flexible with schedule; no block scheduling
• Floating to Post-Partum unit required as needed

This position is ideal for experienced L&D RNs with strong clinical skills, EPIC proficiency, and flexibility in scheduling.
