Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
  • Shift times:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 8:15 AM – 6:45 PM
    • Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • On-call required after department closes until it reopens (approximately 7 on-call days per month; on-call shifts are generally not busy)

Job Description

  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Operate state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras, probes, computer systems, film processors, survey meters, and other technical devices

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred
  • Licensure:
    • Pending Nuclear Medicine license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) allowed
    • Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine with either the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
    • Must pass a Basic Cardiac Monitoring class within 4 months of hire (class offered onsite)

Required Compliance and Documentation

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
  • Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug testing (10-panel) within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series (booster or declination if low titer)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round requirement)
  • Fit mask testing to be completed onsite within the first week of starting (unless exempt)

Additional Requirements

  • References: 2 references within the last 2 years showing 1 year in a comparable specialty; at least one must be supervisory within the last 12 months
  • Competency exams and required training modules must be completed prior to or shortly after start date
  • Badge photo required at least 8 days prior to start
