Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• On Call:

  • One night per week (7 PM - 7 AM), call days may not coincide with scheduled work days
  • At least one Friday call shift required
  • On call for holidays (either 11 AM - 11 PM or 11 PM - 11 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
• Locals Accepted: No
• Pending State License Accepted: No
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed
• Charting System: Epic
• Total Staffed Beds: 16
• Average Daily Census: 60

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with Operating Room (OR) experience
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (must include neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant experience)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
  • EKG/Dysrhythmia competency testing required during compliance process
• Competencies:

  • Must meet scoring requirements for EKG/Dysrhythmia competency
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (100% score required)
  • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% passing score
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (90% passing score required)
• Additional Skills: Foundational knowledge and practical skills related to cardiac monitoring

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Identification: Current and valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
• Address Verification: Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months, address must be >75 miles from facility
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List Search updated monthly
  • Education verification with transcript/diploma
  • Fingerprinting (if applicable)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by Physician/PA/NP/APRN
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
  • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis A & B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (with exemptions)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start)
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form)
• Facility Specific:

  • Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) mandatory
  • EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
  • Fit testing for N95 mask completed onsite within 1 year
  • Completion of various policy acknowledgments and agreements prior to start (e.g., Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy)
• References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Work History: 10-year verified work history including international positions

• Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
• No block scheduling accommodations
• No local candidates accepted (must live >75 miles away)
• Return to office (RTO) days limited to 5 or fewer
• EKG/Dysrhythmia competency testing will be assigned during compliance if offered

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of OR experience including neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant, who are comfortable with cardiac monitoring and on-call responsibilities. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
