Job Overview

• Location: Rochester, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Weekly hours: 36
• Schedule: Willing to rotate between acute and LTC care; every other weekend
• Call: Nights if possible, 1 every other week
• Local candidate restriction: No local candidates within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience with a 1:20 patient ratio

Clinical Focus

• Patient diagnoses: CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, respiratory infections
• Core procedures: ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, pulmonary hygiene
• Airway and respiratory support: Endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement and suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning, nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation
