Schedule and Assignment

• Available schedules: 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48
• No call; rotating weekends
• Floating required. When floated to Med/Surg, the ratio is 1:7.
• The hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases. Extra shifts may be flexed for census or resource needs.
• Contract RNs are expected to take part in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience of at least 1 year, including PCU experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association, required for any candidate with patient contact
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Conditional or Preferred Certifications

• NIH Stroke Certification: required or preferred depending on the unit description
• Physical exam: required within 1 year of start, not required by the facility
• References: 2 required, 3 preferred

Other Requirements

• Travelers must live within 100 miles of the facility.
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs. The 16 hours of nonbillable orientation must be included in the confirmation.
• Several forms are time-sensitive, due within 24 to 48 hours of signing the contract, including the staff information form, badge photo, and respirator questionnaire.
