Job Opportunity: Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine

Location: Miramar, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description

• Perform advanced ultrasound examinations with a focus on maternal fetal medicine (MFM).
• Review patient requisitions and indications to determine the appropriate exam.
• Collaborate with medical staff and MFM physicians for exam clarifications.
• Demonstrate understanding of fetal anatomy across all trimesters and identify abnormalities.
• Perform and interpret Doppler studies (umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, ductus venosus) with knowledge of their indications.
• Evaluate multiple gestations, including assessment of chronicity and amnionicity.
• Conduct diagnostic transvaginal ultrasounds.
• Ideally experienced with 3D imaging techniques.
• Provide guidance during diagnostic procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS).
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume, complex environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between multiple clinic sites.
• May be required to work variable shifts.
• Experience scanning with Voluson Expert 22 BT24 USA ultrasound equipment preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing medical education and staying current with ultrasound techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent ultrasound technologist experience.
• Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography.
• Experience as an Ob/Gyn sonographer, including proficiency in nuchal translucency measurements.
• Knowledge and experience in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) ultrasound procedures.

• Fit testing may be required onsite for direct patient care.
• Influenza vaccine required or approved exemption during flu season.
• Tdap vaccine recommended.
• Annual TB questionnaire may be required.
• Specialty and pharmacology exams may be required but are optional.
• Badge photo required (color, recent, professional standards).
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
