Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Description

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU.
• Only Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) are eligible.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Submission of a current resume/profile.
• Two professional references prior to first assignment.
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file).
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings within 30 days of assignment start.
• Employment verification for the past seven years.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
• Signed assignment agreement and onboarding education attestation.
• Completion of specialty exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years).
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years).
• Annual skills checklist for specialty.
• Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Optional: Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted but mask required).
• Optional: Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
• Optional: Post-assignment hiring manager evaluation and legal name change documentation.

This position requires a dedicated respiratory therapist with specialized pediatric or neonatal ICU experience, appropriate certifications, and compliance with comprehensive onboarding and health requirements.
