Job Summary

Provide specialized nursing care on a 20-bed medical stepdown unit focused on patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure (CHF), and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses. Care also includes long-term ventilator-dependent patients and general medical patients requiring cardiac monitoring across multiple specialties such as cardiology, renal, endocrinology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.

Unit Highlights

Specialized training in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, A-PAP)
Provides infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care
Patient care assistants support with activities of daily living (ADLs), point-of-care glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs
Dedicated stroke unit with all RNs NIH stroke scale certified

Contract Length

8 weeks

Shift Details

12-hour shifts
Night shift
Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
