Surgical Technologist Position

Location

• Clinton Township, Michigan

Job Summary

• Assist surgical team by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to surgery type.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized operating room environment.
• Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients with sensitivity to care and privacy.
• Assist Registered Nurse with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients in the OR.
• Participate in department education, audits, and governance changes.
• May train or precept new Surgical Technologists.
• Respond to emergent situations following established procedures.

Work Schedule

• Four-day work week.
• Two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts per week.
• One 12-hour Saturday shift every five weeks.
• Shift hours: 6:50 AM – 3:20 PM and 6:50 AM – 7:20 PM.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent General Education Development (GED) is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist within the last year.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of start date.
