Work Schedule

  • Days, Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or up to 6:00 PM (flexibility needed)
  • 40 hours per week

Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
  • Deliver care based on established nursing standards and hospital policies.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
  • Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
  • Develop comprehensive, current care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge needs.
  • Provide and oversee all aspects of patient care, ensuring alignment with medical regimens.
  • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments; reassess as needed.
  • Coordinate overall care plans with multidisciplinary teams, prioritizing age-specific needs.
  • Accept accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgment.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care and nursing standards.
  • Communicate effectively and manage stressful situations professionally.
  • Participate in staff orientation and assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
  • Assist with coverage and float to other units as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
  • Engage in meetings, committees, educational programs, research, and pilot projects.
  • Pursue continuing professional growth through education and certifications.
  • Participate in professional and community organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, including within the last year
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Experience in supervisory roles
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians on procedures such as TEE and loop recorder implants
