Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) schedule.
- Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) or Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care.
- Placement will be on a unit with the greatest need, which may be PCU, Med/Surg, or Telemetry units based on the nurse’s skills.
- Candidates with Med/Surg or Stepdown RN experience are acceptable as both require the same credentialing.
- Must be willing and able to float within skill set to other units onsite or to sites within 40 miles if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of PCU (step-down) Acute Care experience
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg Telemetry (Acute Care) experience
- Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry nursing
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:
- MMR (2 doses or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (2 doses or immunity verification, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive)
- Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 or 1870+ masks) required annually.
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Background checks including criminal history and employment verification.
- Completion of specialty exams, core competencies, EKG exam, color vision test, and Epic system test-out prior to assignment.
- Health statement or physical exam confirming good health prior to first assignment and updated annually.
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address requirements).
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and float as needed within the facility or nearby locations.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- This role requires strong clinical skills in acute care telemetry and step-down nursing environments.
