Provide nursing care on a Stepdown unit specializing in cardiovascular patients, including those recovering from procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers, and open heart surgery (18-24 hours post-op).
Care for patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
Participate in clinical trials managed by the research department.
Work in a unit recognized for excellence in cardiac care and patient outcomes.
May be required to float to similar units as needed.
The Stepdown unit is a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients.
Emphasis on patient-centered, evidence-based, and holistic care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Orientation and ongoing support provided for new team members.

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience within the last year
Proficiency in cardiac nursing care
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior travel nursing experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
Stepdown nursing experience

Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or late arrivals (over 20 minutes) unless excused for communicable disease or hospitalization with documentation. Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.
Full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
Local traveler policy: candidates living within 35 miles of the facility are considered local travelers.
