Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Crescent City, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ER setting.

Schedule: Every other weekend


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) or Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current PALS certification
  • Current TNCC certification
  • CCRN certification
  • NURSYS verification
  • Valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
  • Education verification with preference for Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
  • TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually

Additional Requirements

  • Full 7 years of verifiable work history with no gaps over 30 days
  • Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
  • Completion of facility-specific documents including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years for clinical acute care candidates
