Job Description

• Provide independent care for Level I trauma patients in a Level I Trauma Emergency Room (Trauma Bay).
• Must have 3-5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience as a T1 nurse.
• Experience with Cerner and Epic electronic health record systems is required.
• Must hold an active Florida or Compact nursing license.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (via AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Certification.
• Degree must be from an accredited school or approved by the Florida Board of Nursing.
• Must have 2 years of recent acute care experience within the past 24 months in a U.S. hospital (consecutive).
• Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered.

Required Experience

• Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 5 years (highest stated requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Certifications & Licenses

• Active Florida or Compact RN license.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent).
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Ability to function independently in a Level I Trauma ER setting.
• Experience with Cerner and Epic EHR systems.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all nursing professions except Case Managers).
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA.
• Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (TSPOT and PPD not accepted).
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer).
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination.
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
• Annual fit mask test (approved masks: 3M 1860 Regular or 1860 Small).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred (for tracking purposes).

Background & Compliance

• Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
• Education verification from accredited institutions.
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required for clinical professions.
• State-mandated references: 2 professional references from within the last 2 years.
• Completion of multiple online orientation and compliance modules (e.g., Privacy Policy, Risk Management, Code of Conduct, Emergency Management, Harassment Prevention, etc.).
• Badge photo required (passport-style, white background).
