LVN – Well Baby Nursery

LVN / LPN Travel/Contract Position

Location: Camden, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
• Night shifts: 7 PM to 7 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• OBGYN experience preferred

Unit & Patient Population

• Well baby nursery only
• Patient diagnoses primarily newborn infants
• Transfers for special care cases
• Procedures include circumcisions and occasional IV antibiotics
• Routine hearing screens and PKU collections

Equipment & Support

• Algo Hearing Screen
• Panda and Fisher Pykel portable warming stations for infants
• IV pumps and syringe pumps
• Gomco device for circumcisions
• MD on call for OB/Nursery 24/7

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during shifts)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Facis level 3
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated every contract renewal
  • State-specific AR criminal search (required for all travelers)
• Highest level educational diploma or transcript
• State license primary source verification
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• Clinical references (2 required)
• Performance evaluations if previously worked over 1 year with the system
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit

Health & Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season; mask required if declined

Competency Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) for subcontractors or as required
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

This position offers a specialized neonatal nursing experience in a well baby nursery setting with night shifts and requires a strong background in newborn care and relevant certifications.
