Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Valid Arizona RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required
- Certifications required (must be current and valid):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within the last 2 years (candidates without AWHONN certification will not be considered)
- Float based on census required
- Coverage every other weekend
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- No local candidates accepted
Orientation
- Orientation held twice a month
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background checks including 7-year history, OFAC, National Sex Offender, and all counties/states lived/worked
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Drug testing within 72 hours of booking and within 30 days of assignment start (12 panel)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccine within 10 years; declinations allowed except for certain units)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; no declinations)
- Hepatitis B (proof of 3 vaccines or positive titer; declinations allowed with form)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; no declinations)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
- Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain units with remediation policy
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam with passing score of 80% or higher
- HIPAA competency updated annually with passing score of 80% or above
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (AWOHNN or NCC acceptable)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications may be required depending on unit
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references from employment within the last 3 years, including 1 supervisory reference
- Employment application with detailed work history for the last 7 years; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Float and weekend coverage required
