Overview

Travel/contract RN role in Roanoke, Virginia
13-week contract
Day shift: 3x12s, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
Accepts first-time travelers
Locals accepted

Unit / Float Scope

Must be comfortable working all PCU and MS units
Floating may occur 2–3 times per shift, with staffing re-evaluated every 4 hours
Unit ratios:
- PCU: 5:1
- MS: 6:1, may flex up to 7:1

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
IV therapy experience
Blood product administration experience
Central line care experience
Trach management experience
Non-invasive airway support experience including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
Cardiac monitoring experience
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience
Titrating cardiac drips experience
Rapid Response/Code team response experience
PCA protocol management experience
Experience with Epic

Scheduling Requirements

May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be included with the submission

Additional Notes

Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
