Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Newberry, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Tuesdays and Thursdays only (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 16 hours

Job Description

• Perform duties as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Work schedule is limited to two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Emergency contact form completed prior to start.
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year residence/work/school history search.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM verification (annual).
  • HHS/OIG verification (annual).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Fit mask certification (3M 1860/1860s or 3M Aura 1870), updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot).
• Immunization or titer proof for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (or restart if break >12 weeks).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form required annually.
• COVID vaccination preferred; declination form accepted. Masking may be required based on hospital policy.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation checklist and employment application ASAP.
• Annual skills checklist.
• Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).
• One professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• This position is part-time with a fixed schedule of two 8-hour shifts per week.
