Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
Charge RN experience requested but not required
Patient diagnoses include a wide range of medical-surgical conditions
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Unit census: 32 rooms, average daily census of 29
Floating within facility as needed, within scope of practice
Every other weekend required
No call requirements
Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Return to Orientation (RTO) maximum 7 days, blackout during Spring Break (April 4-12)
Electronic health record system: Epic (required)
Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Experience in Charge Nurse roles
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
