Shift Details

• Day shift, either 3 or 4 shifts per week of 12 hours each (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Schedule and Time Off

• Block schedule accommodation possible but not guaranteed
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• After 2 call outs without documented medical reason, contract may be canceled
• PTO must be approved and included in contract before assignment start; no additional PTO after acceptance
• Schedules must be flexible to meet unit needs

• Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card required
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including multiple specific searches (SSN trace, state and national criminal, sex offender registry, etc.)
• Employment application/resume and skills checklist (updated annually)
• Work history verification not required for this facility
• Facility-specific documents including signed agreements (Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, HIPAA, etc.) must be completed prior to start
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge required
• Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) before orientation; failure to complete results in being sent home
• COVID vaccination records highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season; documentation must be uploaded by December 5th deadline or disciplinary action applies
• Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start, no instant tests
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of position
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) or chest x-ray within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
