Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anniston, Alabama
Shift: Nights, Every Other Week (EOW), 4x12 hour shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Overview

• MedSurg RN with float responsibilities and possible charge nurse duties as needed
• Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:6
• Option for 4x12 shifts
• Skills required: IV starts, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• 30-minute lunch break required, no skipped meals

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience, with recent experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Locals within a 60-mile radius considered
• Prior travel experience preferred but not explicitly required
• Background checks must include EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG with all aliases
• National certification verification and primary source license verification required prior to start and upon expiration
• Competency exams required as applicable to specialty
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required to meet Joint Commission standards

Work Environment & Expectations

• Night shift with 12-hour shifts, totaling 48 hours per week
• Every other week schedule (EOW)
• Float and possible charge nurse duties as needed
• Emphasis on patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols

This position is ideal for a MedSurg RN with trauma experience who is comfortable working nights and can commit to an 8-week travel contract in Alabama.
