Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Wound Care

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
• Work Schedule: Weekend requirement of 1 shift every 6 weeks
• Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
• Pending License: Accepted
• Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days within 13-week contract
• Special Requirements: Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis
• Unit Accepts: First-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Job Responsibilities

• Perform VAC changes and dressing changes
• Rover for wound photos
• Provide wound care according to facility protocols

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital setting
• Total staffed beds: 233
• Charting system: EPIC
• Uniform: Navy scrub color; no artificial nails allowed
• Parking: Free

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check (7-year search, including statewide and nationwide checks) within 6 months of start
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (cannot pend at start)
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) and other state-specific background checks as applicable
• Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS verification required)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including specific drug panels; must remain valid throughout assignment
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or equivalent within 1 year)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as per facility policy
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept-April)
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; onsite testing available if needed
• HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, and Regulatory Compliance Education (annual completion required)
• Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Employment application and professional references (2 required, supervisors preferred)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (e.g., oncology skills if applicable)

• No on-call requirement
• Candidates must adhere to facility policies including dress code and fingernail restrictions
• Candidates must complete required orientation modules through the facility’s learning system unless completed in the current calendar year
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position

This position offers a structured day shift with a focus on wound care in an acute care hospital environment, suitable for RNs with wound ostomy certification and at least one year of relevant experience.
