Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Location

  • Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Type

  • Travel/Contract assignment
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Setting

  • Hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation clinic
  • Patient diagnoses include lymphedema, cognitive evaluation/treatment, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions

Schedule

  • Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
  • No call, weekend, or float requirements unless low patient census requires covering other sites

Patient Load and Population

  • Daily patient load: 10-11 patients
  • Patient groups: Adults required; adolescents preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan
  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Complete criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search from age 18
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start (process coordinated via DocuSign)
  • Education verification with copy of highest degree or diploma
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug screening: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • Proof of Tdap vaccine
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer each)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (for candidates starting after November 1)
  • Completion of Bronson-specific Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy acknowledgments
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam passed within 1 year prior to assignment start
  • Competency exam in specialty passed within 1 year prior to assignment start
  • Professional reference from a supervisor or manager required

Additional Notes

  • Fit testing is not required for outpatient occupational therapists at this facility
  • No weekend or call responsibilities unless covering other sites due to low census
  • Must submit a complete employment application/resume with 7 years of work history, no gaps
  • Michigan Central Registry Clearance is not required for this position (only for pediatric, RRT, L&D, Echo Tech roles)
