Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit & Scheduling Details
- Weekend rotation schedule to be discussed during interview
- Call schedule: typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Must work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (expectation varies from 1 to 2 holidays worked depending on number of holidays during assignment)
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start, results must be available before start
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Annual Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency exams required for nursing staff, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency for relevant specialties
- Must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start; if previously positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- TB questionnaire required and must be updated annually
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination required annually during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) highly recommended but not required
Additional Requirements
- Two clinical references required
- Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months
- Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment, 10 hours for 10-week assignment)
Notes
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Floating assignments will be within the facility and scope of practice
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
