Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Job Details

Unit size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
Shifts: 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday shifts: As needed
Telemetry patients present but monitored on a different unit
Floating required to acute care, cardiology, and emergency care for patient holds
Nurse aides (CNAs) available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
Orientation: 1 week general orientation including EMR training, plus 2 days floor-specific orientation
Scrub color: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg)
At least 1 prior travel assignment required (no first-time travelers)
BLS (AHA) certification required
NIHSS certification required (AHA)
Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the hospital as per the traveler's driver’s license
