Job Description
- Utilize imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality.
- Prepare patients for procedures, educate them, and respond to questions or concerns with an age-appropriate approach considering communication, safety, patient education, and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
- Apply radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
- Work with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
- Oversee and train students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
- Ensure infection control and quality control techniques are followed.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Kentucky
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT(N) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine)
