Location

Job Summary
- Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period.
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeon during surgical procedures.
- Provide care based on patient age group (neonate through geriatric).
- Apply aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge.
- Prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic surgical environments.
- Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties.
- Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation.
- Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.
- Adhere to professional standards of practice.
Schedule
- 5 shifts per week, Monday through Friday.
- 8 hours per day (day shift).
- Call up to 40 hours on a 6-week rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.

Poor staffing, floating to other units sometimes all three shifts, little support from management. The AMN (Charge) is responsible for 59 patient rooms, which could be 118 patients. Resources are stretched too thin.
