Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry Unit

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a fast-paced, 25-bed Medical-Surgical unit with Telemetry experience.
• Patient types include Inpatient, Observation, and Swing bed patients.
• Schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, every other weekend.
• No on-call or floating to other units required.
• Patient ratio: 1:6.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Experience

• Experience with CPSI EMR system preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID.
• 7-year background check (updated annually).
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
• Photo for badge and dress code acknowledgment required prior to start.

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit requiring at least 2 years of relevant experience, with a preference for 3 years. The role offers a consistent night shift schedule with no on-call or floating duties. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and a valid Kentucky RN license. Candidates should be prepared to complete standard background checks, health screenings, and immunization verifications. Experience with CPSI EMR is a plus but not mandatory.
