Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
- Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
- Conduct home visits and periodic office meetings.
- Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
- Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and required liability insurance.
- Schedule typically Monday through Friday; some positions may have a 4x10 shift (Friday-Monday).
- On-call required approximately every 3-4 weeks on weekends (Saturday/Sunday).
- Travel radius up to 75 miles from home clinic; local candidates accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Home Health, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in a Home Health setting, including supervisory roles.
- Hospice experience.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Proficiency with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) electronic medical records system.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Dress code: Scrubs.
- Productivity expectation: Approximately 30 units per week.
- Travel: 30-40 miles per day between patient visits.
- Guaranteed hours: No; patient census may vary.
- Candidates may be floated to nearby clinics if hours are low.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and personal/auto insurance.
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender, and state-specific screenings.
- Drug screening (10-panel) required.
- Health documents required: Physical exam within 12 months, negative TB test or chest X-ray, immunizations or titers for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination or declination, COVID vaccination or declination.
- Education verification required.
- References: Two professional references required.
- Work history verification for the last 7 years or two most recent employers.
- Completion of various compliance documents and training prior to start, including confidentiality, HIPAA, privacy policies, and home health/hospice-specific policies.
- Must review and sign all required compliance and policy documents before starting the assignment.

- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel within the assigned territory.
