Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 days per week, 8 hours per day)
• Expected caseload: 16-20 cases per day
• Call requirement: 1 day per week
• Weekend requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts during the contract
• May be required to float to the Cath Lab

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Louisiana (temporary LSRT accepted; issued within 3-5 days after fee and proof of ARRT)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County, nationwide, sex offender, federal checks
  • Must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months of start and annually
• Competency exams (Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Core Parts I-III) required within 12 months of start and updated annually, with minimum passing score of 80%
• State license and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by employer but required by placement agency)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB test result
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titer low
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titer low
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with medical/religious exemptions accepted; mask required if unvaccinated
