Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Kerrville, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Role: Main OR Circulator
• Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Call required nights, weekends, and holidays with 3-day weekend per month and minimum 1 day call per week
• Floating to Surgery Center circulating role as needed
• Surgical cases include all except heart, brain, and spine
• Late shifts are mandatory
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• I9 verification and E-Verify compliance
• Background checks including 7-year search, SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks (updated annually)
• Professional references: 2 required within 3 years of start
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (medication/pharmacology and specialty-specific) with minimum 80% score
• Primary source verification of state license

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (specific to travel placement)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Vaccination or documented declination for:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu (or declination during flu season)
  • COVID-19 (or declination)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Completion of facility-specific health forms and vaccination acknowledgments
