Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Oncology Floor)

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) on an Oncology MedSurg floor.
• Patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7; experience with higher ratios required.
• Block scheduling considered.
• Preferred schedule is 3x12 shifts, but 4x12 shifts will be considered.
• Required skills include Telemetry and IV start.
• Oncology experience is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year recent MedSurg experience required.
• Previous travel experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with Cerner and Soarian EMR systems.
• Must provide own Royal Blue scrubs (not provided).
• Minimal to no return to office (RTO) days; must be included on submission.
• Local candidates within 30 miles of facility will not be considered; local rate applies for 31-50 miles radius.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Georgia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit (verify with recruiter).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• At least 1 year of recent MedSurg and Telemetry nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I-9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy required).
• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted).
• NURSYS primary source verification for RN license.
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing.
• Physical exam within 1 year and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted).
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination).
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Sept 3 - Mar 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided.
• Fit test for masks completed onsite at no cost.
• Facility-specific health and safety training modules must be completed prior to start date.
• Photo for badge: passport-style, shoulders up, plain background, no selfies, jpeg format, submitted within 24 hours of signing.
• Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months of start.

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting via Georgia Criminal History Check System (GCHEXS) is required only for CNAs, not RNs.
• Candidates must be willing to complete all facility-specific forms and training promptly.
• Candidates must carry photo ID during all hours of service.
• Candidates must comply with dress code and wear Royal Blue scrubs.

This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg RNs with oncology exposure who are comfortable with night shifts and higher patient ratios, and who are open to travel assignments in Georgia.
