Shift: Night (3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years current experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient ratios typically 1:5 or 1:6
• Experience with Meditech EMR system required
• Must float within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Annual physical exam or physician note within 1 year prior to start, stating clearance to work without restrictions
• Fit mask test completed onsite; PAPRs not accommodated due to facial hair; medical or religious exemptions must be submitted on day one
• Valid Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (Td not accepted); declinations accepted if within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test via QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year prior to start (T-Spot/PPD not accepted); if positive, proof of chest X-ray within 5 years plus TB questionnaire required
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Varicella – 2 vaccinations or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B – series, titer, or declination (declination must be within 1 year)
• Annual drug test within 30 days of start using specified 9-panel bundle (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1–3/31); exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of offer acceptance and approved prior to start

Background and Verification

• Background check per Appalachian Regional Bundle with 9 Panel (no THC) plus expanded opiates and oxycodone, updated annually
• Education verification included in background or third-party verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days prior to start
• State-specific registry checks:

  • Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Driver’s license and government-issued photo ID required
• Must sign assignment confirmation within 24 hours of offer
• Complete employment application/resume with education and work history
• Annual skills checklist required
• Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, employee health attestation, fit test policy review, and flu vaccine documentation or exemption submission
