Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Assignment on a Stepdown unit with potential to float to similar patient care units including Emergency Department.
• Rotating shifts with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am). Shift rotation may be required to meet operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year.
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred but not required.

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory. Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome and cannot be skipped.
• SafeMedicate preparation materials provided before orientation.
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) required at orientation with remediation and retake opportunities if needed.
• Photo ID required for badge issuance.

Additional Information

• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
• Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area.
• Skills checklist and competency exams required annually.
• Candidates with gaps longer than 30 days between assignments may need to repeat certain health screenings and modules.
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
• Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines and fit mask are accepted but require agency approval and facility review.

Work Hours

• 36 hours per week, scheduled as 3 twelve-hour shifts.
• Shifts may be day or night with rotation as needed.

This position is ideal for experienced Stepdown RNs licensed in Ohio or a Compact State, who are comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts and meeting comprehensive health and competency requirements.
